This page explains what personal data I process when you visit diegodemarco.com or write to me through the contact form, what I use it for and what rights you have. I do so in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on the Protection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD).
Data controller
- Controller: Diego De Marco
- Contact: through the contact form on this website
- Website: diegodemarco.com
What data I process
I only process the data you give me when you use the contact form:
- Your name.
- Your email address.
- The reason for your message and its text, including any data you choose to include in it.
Please do not include particularly sensitive data (such as health information) or other people’s data without their consent.
What I use it for
I use your data only to read your message and reply to you, and where applicable to continue the conversation you start (for example about a collaboration, a talk or a press enquiry). I do not use it to send you advertising or newsletters, and I do not make automated decisions or build profiles with it.
Legal basis
The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by ticking the box on the form before sending it. You can withdraw it at any time by writing to me through the contact form, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before.
How long I keep it
I keep messages for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and, once the conversation is over, for no longer than 12 months. After that I delete them, unless the law requires me to keep them longer.
Who else has access
I do not sell or share your data with third parties. To run the website and email, I use providers that process data on my behalf as data processors, with the safeguards required by the GDPR:
- Hostinger: website hosting and sending of the contact form emails.
- My email provider, whose mailbox receives the messages.
If any of these providers processes data outside the European Economic Area, it will do so with the safeguards set out in the GDPR, such as the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
I would only disclose your data to public authorities where the law requires me to.
Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability at any time by writing to me through the contact form. I will reply within one month at the latest.
If you believe your data has not been handled properly, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).

This website links to third-party sites such as LinkedIn, GitHub or Cloud Studio. When you visit them, their own privacy policies apply.
Changes to this policy
If I change the way I process your data, I will update this page and show the date of the latest revision at the top.
